the Sub Poly! I alway wanted to try out something with Max/MSP (Cycling74, just google.

The Max patch has an input and output for midi notes and an output for other midi parameters. It takes the notes and limits them to 2 at a time. The lower note gets actually send to the phatty, the higher note gets "added" with the shifting octave and OSC 2 frequenzy parameters. (Magic!)
It sounds a bit cheesy since the note-switching of the higher note is realy hard. Also some notes get lost sometimes and the overall delay seems to be quite bad. But for my first max / msp it will do the job. If somebody want's to see how it works and sounds, you can download a 30 day trial from max/msp and once in the program click on "file" -> "new from clipboard" after copy the text below. (everything! from "----begin..." to"...patcher ---") I will also add the patch-file so people with the Max runtime (free) can also have a look.
The instructions are in the patcher, just do what the orange text fields say.
