Little Phatty firmware upgrade problem

hello, I am new to moog products but not synths.
I recently acquired a little phatty second hand.
i wanted to upgrade the firmware to 3.1 build 671.
i use a windows computer and maudio mtrack plus to connect via midi. I have never had any problems sending sysex to/from my computer and keyboards with this device.
when i started the bootloader transfer the phatty menu never progressed past stage 1 but the computer software said the sysex had been sent successfully.
i waited and waited, no error messages, still stuck at stage 1.
i powered off/on, and now i have a blank screen on the little phatty.
i've tried resending the sysex for the bootloader program to no avail, each time the computer says it was sent, the midi light was on on the mtrack indicating it was being sent, but the lp did nothing.
it looks like it is now totally hosed with no usable O/S, and i'm really mad because i followed the instructions but go no error messages, just stuck at stage 1.
is my keyboard now DOA, and i have to go to a moog repair shop to reload it??
is there anything i can download to get it in some working state again.
