Slim Phatty set up with Minitaur

I've just purchased a slim phatty to partner my minitaur.

However after setting everything up there is no sound from the slim phatty.

I have microkorg as midi keyboard (midi out) to midi in of SP. then SP (midi thru) to midi in of minitaur.
When playing I get sounds from minitaur only.

When I do a test tone through the SP menu the sound then plays but for some reason it isn't playing when using my keyboard or DAW to produce midi signals. However the midi notes are passing through it ok as it is playing my minitaur.

I'm sure it has something to do with the settings on the SP but I'm stuck

Check MIDI settings on your SP ~
Make sure the MIDI IN channel is the same as your keyboard.

(Generally channel 1, by default)

Midi Channel is set at Channel 1
Minitaur is also set on Channel 1

Do you think it could be cause i'm using midi thru instead of midi out to the minitaur?

Is there any Midi Thru settings?

This is very strange,
like I said when I do test sound via SP menu, i get the sound, so I know SP works.
And I know my midi leads seem to be set up fine as the minitaur plays midi signal from microkorg (which has to pass thru SP to get there)

I also have the Sound button highlighted under the volume as i know this would prevent it.

MIDI THRU "shouldn't" effect the SP, but it's certainly worth a try.
(Maybe some obscure cable issue?)

Also verify the following MIDI settings on the SP:

LOCAL CNTRL: ON
MIDI DIN: DIN/USB
POLY: OFF

Also, do you have an owners manual?
If not, you can get it, and the OS v3.1 addendum, directly from Moog.
They may come in handy as you dig deeper into the SP's inner workings...
