Voyager XL sighting

Post by EMwhite » Thu Sep 05, 2013 11:28 pm

On Letterman 9/4 - "Passion Pit" I couldn't hear it; loud band bad mix, meanwhile, just a bass player and nord electro player plus girls singing and drummer; wasn't sure if it was an actual XL or 'just' a Voyager until the camera zoomed out and I saw Paul's pitiful  and neglected in the corner of his setup.

I saw an XL on stage as part of MGMT's rig a few weekends back at a festival in Monterey CA (Passion Pit were headlining actually). It had a pretty gnarly patch wired and looked like their keyboardist Ben Goldwasser was using it for sound effect-type-stuff only. I didn't get a chance to speak with their keyboard tech but gathered that most of the "synth" sounds in their arrangements were laptop-based.

Really cool show at any rate.

I heard him play the voyager when they covered a P-Funk song.
If you look at the settings, his Oscs are set different, like Osc 1 is off but 2 is on. I noticed this years ago. If they are still like this then you know he hasn't played it in awhile.

I don't even know if it's turned on.

I think I hear the mothership coming.
