Sub Phatty: crackling sounds when turning cutoff..

Hi there,

I have some irritating radom crackles and ticks when turning the cutoff knob of my sub phatty.
I have nothing attached except audio out..
Strangely it didn't do this before, and I am really gentle with my precious.
I'm running beta 1.4.1. Could this be firmware / software issues?
I hope so, because I don't want to return my little baby for repairs!
Anybody suggestions?

this is with no MIDI connected at all?
can you make an audio recording of this?

There's nothing in the beta firmware that should cause a crackle on only one knob, in the absence of any MIDI feedback or similar.

Does it make any difference if you press directly IN on the knob (pressing it gently against the panel) as you turn?
If so, it could be a physical/mechanical issue.

I have the same problem. Crackling random noise/jumps while turning the cutoff.
this is with no midi or usb connected. did you solve your problem? otherwise I will have to send it back...

This is happening to me as well. Just emailed support. By this time it has to be a known issue for MOOG. Can anyone comment who has had this repaired. Or even MOOG comment on the issue. I am just out of warranty too Love this thing and want a smooth sounding cutoff! You can actually see the hick-ups and jumps visually when you are in the editor. I would say 8 out of 10 times I turn the knob it glitches. I would think there had to have been a bad batch of components with so many people having the same issue???

I have been in touch with Andy in support and will be getting this fixed. Wonderful service at Moog. Love this synth can not wait to get it back to 100% functional
