Voyager XL Oscillator 1 failure

Post by JamesGibbs » Mon Aug 19, 2013 8:24 am

Hi,

New to all this, however picked up a sweet Voyager XL, recently in seemingly great condition!
All going well until today.
It appears Osc 1 has failed :(
It makes a pulsing popping/clicking sound when I play keys, even when oscillator switched off. Its the only noise it makes when playing osc 1, however has resolution noise when turned up.
Octave selector doesn't change anything though.
Volume of Osc turned down changes volume of noise.
Also, the wave type changes rate, a little.

Any ideas?
Has anyone had this happened to them?
I have emailed Moog and also local synth repair guy, who has an excellent reputation.'
Awaiting there replies, however this is a bit stressfull.
Still paid good money for it, wishing I had just saved a little more and bought brand new!
It looks brand new`.

Cheers for any advice anyone can offer

Problem solved, had to take to synth repairer. According to Moog, Oscillator was going into a sub-frequency range or something like that. Basically, Oscillator one was kaput.
