Opus 3 sliders, technology transplant?

Post by Connarugh » Sun Mar 10, 2013 12:19 pm

 I bought an opus 3 recently, cleaned out all of the black death goo, it sounds great apart from a few of the sliders not fully functioning because of the deteriorated foam clogging up the contacts. Ordered the replacement slider set from Technology transplant over a month ago (2/8/13) and have heard nothing back from them. At first I just assumed that they where shut down due to Chinese new years as some companies take the whole month off, but I am starting to get worried that they are no longer around and just haven't taken down their website. I've heard that they are notorious for not anwsering emails and have tried to contact them on multipule occasions with no luck. I've posted about this on various forums and have had no luck with only vague anwsers and advice. Has anyone ordered anything from them lately? I love my opus 3 and want it to live up to its fullest potential. Thanks in advance!!

First, welcome to the Moog Forum. :D

Second, taken from their site:

"Items generally ship on only the weekends, once a week from Hong Kong."
"You will be emailed, and your account updated with tracking information after mailing. All items ship from Hong Kong."

One of my friend had bought an MG-1 sliders replacement kit from them, and it took forever to get here (Canada) but it eventually did. I don't remember how long though, I'd have to ask him.

Anyway, hope you receive it because the Opus 3 is worth it! Best of luck.

In 2009 I ordered the Opus 3 67 piece kit they shorted me 4 parts and eventually sent them. Beware, it's easy for a tech to install the sliders UPSIDE down it happened to mine (decay contour) and messed that parameter up. Once reversed it worked fine. Also, my chorus was turned into a puny LFO type vibrato which I am assuming is also because the depth slider was installed upside down. I am currently on the search for a new tech in the NYC area to install the 4 remaining kit parts and address the Chorus issue. Best of luck to you with Technology Transplant company. I was dealing with CY and could reach him @ chipforbrains@yahoo.com. I believe he is the USA representative that lives here and travels to China.

I've been trying to order the set of MG-1 sliders and I can't seem to get validated on the site to order parts from them. Are they still in business or am I just inept. I found their validation code in my spam box but everytime I click it it says invalid. Anyone else have that problem. I just want to order sliders to fix my MG-1....Is there anyone currently selling these besides technology translpant or the elusive ebayer chipforbrains.....I can't seem to get any correspondence from either one. (need at least first 4-5
sliders counting from left to right. (i know some of those have different values) ,,,Please help!
