Minitaur as External Filter in Ableton Live 9 (beta)

Post by Pedro Barbosa » Mon Jan 21, 2013 11:28 pm

Hello Guys,

my setup: Mac Os X 10.6.8 , Ableton version 9.0b63 64 Bit , Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 DSP, Minitaur Editor 2.0 Rev 2 w/ Firmware version 2.0.0.

I'm desperate because already tried everything to make a sample came and be modulated by Minitaur correctly using the External Audio Effect (live). and maximum I got was several strange noises. I will not waste time posting all the ways that I did, but I researched all, Moog forum and official videos by Amos. and still can not make it work. :(

I wonder if it could be done a step-by-step teaching it. believe it will help many people in the future. :D

Regards mates!

i have not tryed this with min, because i have alot of filters but. some filters just react when you send a midinote. have you tryed to send a note to open and close the vca . so make 2 tracks in live. one for the midi notes and a audio track to send the audio into the filter.
I tweak the knop till it´s broken

I did!!! its work here, my mistake was that in the Saffire mixcontrol had to put the "DAW 5" in output 5 to Minitaur audio Input... I did it and it worked perfectly, if someone has problems in the future with a setup like mine, I'll be happy to help!, thank you and have fun!

Seriously, I can't get it to work. Same system here, Saffire + Ableton + Minitaur. Tried everything, sending the midi note to keep the gate open (ok, can hear the note back) but can't get my external audio back from the Minitaur. When I change my monitoring to DAW 4 on Mixcontrol, all I get is to monitor output 4. Input remains silent or receiving only the audio from triggered midi notes. Made sure the audio input on the Minitaur Editor is set to maximum, still no good. Please help!

I really need some help with this. I've had my minitaur for weeks now and I'm on the verge of giving up. I have the exact same setup, Pro 24 DSP, Macbook pro and minitaur. I'm trying to do exactly what Amos has shown in the videos but NOTHING is working for me.

I have the line output 3 on the back of the interface going into the Audio input of the minitaur, I have 'external audio in' turned up on the 'under the hood screen' but still nothing. I have a midi track with midi being sent to the minitaur also.

What am I missing?

Can you guys help me?

Man, you are missing the output cable :)

Joking, is the midi clock on the right channel? If you raise the oscs volume, do you hear them play?
Is it too fast?
