Where are the Voyagers made?
Does anybody know if Bob builds the Voyagers in his shop or does he out source them to another contractor? If so what country?

They are BUILT by a crew of about 5 people. This does not include the rest of the staff (Bob is the chief/only engineer). Bob does not own Moog Music Inc. but with the exception of the Piano Bar & the TB-15 Theremin amp (the Piano Bar was purchased from Don Buchla) he did virtually all of the electrical design and guided the mechanical design as well.
All said and done, there are only about 12 employees at the "factory" which is located in Asheville, NC.

Thats interesting, i've actually been to the shop back when they were called Big Briar. I hand delivered my MemoryMoog to them to have the Lintronics Mod done. I also had the great pleasure of meeting Dr. Moog and he signed my owners manual for me. I have not yet bought a Voyager but I plan to soon.

No, Bob does not own Moog Music. Mike Adams (the president & CEO) owns it and Bob (the engineer & CTO) works for him. The arrangement is actually a little more complex than that - more like a partnership with MA the heavily invested senior managing partner - because Mike can't do it without Bob. They have been looking for an engineer to work with and eventually take Bob's place (easier said than done) for over a year now. Bob is nearly 70 and wants/deserves to retire.
Big Briar Inc. won the rights to the Moog Music name back last year with MA investing the money to lead the fight.
Bob has a stake in Moog Music but ownership is MA's. Just ask them.

I'm very interested in hearing your comments.MoogieMark wrote:I have a MacBeth M3X and it is an awesome little machine, tons of mod routings and great sound. the only drawback is that it has no patch memory.

I don't have a Voyager yet, but I've got one on the way. I'll let you know after I've had a chance to compare.puppets wrote:How is the MacBeth compared to the Voyager in sound? the synth design is quite similar 3osc 2adsr and so on? do they sound alike?
