Win a Moog Voyager signed by Moogfest 2012 artists!

Post by museslave » Wed Nov 28, 2012 11:58 am

Moog Music very graciously donated a gorgeous Moog Voyager to the Bob Moog Foundation so that we could have the Moogfest 2012 artists sign it, and then raffle that synthesizer off in order to support our various education and preservation activities. And you could win it.

Click here to enter the raffle: http://bit.ly/U4RiQp

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQUWUbD2VZI

Hurry, because the raffle ends on November 30!

The synth was signed by:
Thomas Dolby
Orbital (both Paul and Phil signed it)
Squarepusher
Black Moth Super Rainbow
Carl Craig
Richie Hawtin
Morton Subotnick
Herb Deutsch
Miike Snow
Santigold
Alessandro Cortini
Richard Devine
Ana Sia
Nas
Magnetic Fields
Shpongle
GZA
Les Claypool
Bear in Heaven
Explosions in the Sky
Chad Hugo
The Google Doodle Team (the guys responsible for the Bob Moog Google Doodle)

This is a really amazing collection of artists to have signatures of in one place... I mean, come on... Morton Subotnick AND Herb Deutsch? Don Buchla's Herb Deutsch and Bob Moog's Herb Deutsch in one place? Amazing. Anyway. Go bid! Either you win a rare synthesizer, or you support the Bob Moog Foundation!

Thank you!

Alas, if you haven't purchased your raffle ticket, you've missed your chance this year.

The raffle tickets are now sold out. Thank you!

Can they put some kind of clear coat on the keys (clear nailpolish perhaps) to keep the autographs from breaking down from all the grinding some lucky guy is going to do on it?

Personally, I think the signatures could have been all made on the back panel, to proudly show them when tilting it up, instead of all over the place. Especially not next to the Mod Wheels where they're sure to fade with time and hand sweat... IMHO.

I have a ride cymbal on my drum kit that Mike Portnoy (formerly of Dream Theater) has signed, but he was smart enough to sign it underneath so I could keep on playing it without affecting his autograph... :D

DSI OB6
DSI Prophet REV2
Oberheim Matrix-6
Ensoniq SQ-80
Korg DW8000
Behringer DeepMind 12

This year, I insured that no one signed the keys.

Due to the delicious irony, I wanted Morton Subotnick to be the only one to sign them, but he wouldn't do it. :)

But yes, the rest of the artists I requested that they NOT sign the keys. Last year, when I did the demo of the 2011 version, I was horrified to see that even in the midst of the demo I was shooting, evidence of smearing was starting to happen.

I tried to get Thomas Dolby to sign the touch controller, but he wouldn't. No one would... they all looked at it with superstitious dread. Even though I knew it would probably get rubbed away, I thought it'd be a fun and bold choice.

As for the signatures near the wheels... well, if the winner is a prodigious sweater, they're just going to have to find some sort of clear covering. ;)

Only one group signed the back: The Google Doodle team.

A certain percentage of people wish there were no signatures, a certain percentage wish there were only signatures where they wanted them, and a certain percentage is just jazzed about having the autograph of the artist they worship on a really great synthesizer. Perhaps next year I'll advocate the signing on the back... it really is a nice compromise.

I was thinking of the other Voyager that the BMF was raffling with the white finish, the one that you made that hilarious video where where Michelle got pissed at you.

Any chance we could get an update on the drawing?

Also, were we supposed to receive an actual physical raffle ticket, or was the e-mail " receipt" it?

Thanks-

Randy

E-mail's fine, but the winner should've been announced on the 3rd.

A lot of people seem to have missed the winner on the BMF Facebook page:
