Production numbers for the AE - SIGNED !

Post by Gary Smith » Mon Jun 20, 2005 10:51 pm

Hello everyone.

My dealer (Audiosyncrazy - listed in the Voyager newsletter #3 12-23-2004) Sent an email today answering a question about the numbers for the AE ...

The LAST 100 were signed by Bob in a `Silver' ink. (you that have one already know about the ink) This dealer received 3 of them and the one they just sent me (the last of the 3 they had in stock) is of the LAST 50 made and signed. Serial # on mine is 750 (for what ever that means).

So.......Those that have one, are in this small group of 100 signed AE Voyager owners :D

Mine is slated to arrive Thursday...... I can't wait !!!! Wonder if my fellow keyboard buddies will think I have flipped ???

Regards to all,
Gary

Acually, make that 101 of them. I got mine last year in November, just before they were to stop production. Mine is #512 and is signed in the silver pen. I thought I was going to have the only one, until last month the other hundered showed up. Oh well................. I still dig this thing!!!

Hello Frederic.

Well, I will be working on a personal factory tour in August. I will try get more information from the sorces there. Either way, it looks like we with the AE-signed are the smallest group. Then again, toss in those with the limited models made in the not so common woods finishes and........... Who knows. Again, I'll be asking questions should I get that factory visit worked out.

Keep you posted!

Regards,
Gary

PS. Frederic..

Why wouldn't it be 99 and yours make 100 ?? What about serial #2004 that was reported to be the LAST AE off the line signed ?

Hmmmmmmmmm questions - questions.

Well, Maybe it should go...... My Hand signed Moog AE #512 is the first hand signed, and the other 99 or 100 are numbers 2-100 and the 2004 serial number AE is the 101st (Last) of the hand signed AE's. I do know that the first one that was shipped to me was not signed, and had the OS 2.1 installes. I sent it back and got the one I have now, hand signed with the silver pen on the fron, and the OS this time was 2.5.

Gary, I hope you have a great time if you go to the Moog factory. I'll be interestered in your findings............

Is that one of the Moog-branded ones, or the Turnkey version? I know that Moog signed both versions.

I have a Moog-branded (US-sourced) SE signed in the silver pen as well...

Hi

Well, they are not 'Turnkey' versions but they are the UK version (where Turnkey are the local importers and distributors). My guess would be that the last 100 AEs were signed, regardless of their designated destination.

So, we are all 1 on 100 lucky owners!!

Hello there. Yes, I agree, we are the lucky ones of 100 owners of the silver signed AE's :D

I am going to put a new post up shortly, as I have contact with the Moog factory, and will be hoping to co-ordinate a visit to the shop sometime in the next couple of months. I'll try to get the skinny on the signed AE's, serial numbers etc.. Would LOVE to meet Bob, what an HONOR that would be !

Keep you all posted.

Regards,
Gary
