Can the Audio Input be used as an Auto Wah effect?
Can the Audio Input be used as an Auto Wah effect?
On a little phatty, can you play a guitar through the filter and have the envelope filter be touch sensitive like a guitar pedal? Where how hard you play opens/closes the filter like an auto-wah effect.
Re: Can the Audio Input be used as an Auto Wah effect?
A few things:
1. A wah is a bandpass filter. The Phatty is a low pass (maybe a high pass also) filter. It will do a resonant wah-like sound but not what you are expecting.
2. The "Auto" aspect comes from an envelope follower that matches the amplitude of your guitar's signal. So you'd need a 101 for that, or another brand's effect.
So, with a guitar and a phatty alone, the answer is no.
