Where to buy a Voyager from UK/Europe

Post by punkdisco » Mon May 23, 2005 6:28 am

Hi again. Okay, Im sniffing around this Anniversary version as mentioned in another thread but in the meantime: Where is a good place to buy one from the UK? Only seem to find them in Turnkey.

Is mainland Europe considered 'grey market'? If so, not really interested as don't want the warranty headaches.

Many thanks for any suggestions,
Paul

Go to the Moog website, select any product, and click on DEALERS.

A quick peek finds two dealers in Germany, so Europe is not grey market.

You could always import from the states. And you won't have to worry about any defacing of the unit with all the trademark issues.

I have thought about this as I really dont like the UK defacing.. Are there companies who will export from the US to the UK? I thought most companies avoid this sort of stuff..

Thanks for your reply.

You can try http://www.sweetwater.com/ I believe they'll ship anywhere. Ask for Paul Rowan, he's a cool associate and not to pushy with sales.

Apparently Moog themselves will no longer ship you a Voyager direct from the factory.

Why not?

Sorry for the inconvenience.'

Your best bet is to contact Turnkey, Moog's British distributor. They have an outlet in London and also do a postal delivery service. I ordered a Voyager from them, and it arrived very promptly, well packaged and everything as it should be.

BTW the reason for the Moog logo issue is that some character in Wales bought the Moog name when it was available, and won't let it go.

Maybe we should petition Alex Winter to give up the Moog name in the UK - this situation is ridiculous.

Only in the UK! :x

Petition? Has that ever worked?

Send him to Iraq, then we'd have a good excuse to bomb them! :)

Yea but you can always go with another dealer in the U.S and have them ship it to ya overseas. You'll pay the shipping costs but I don't see why they'd care.

I did exactly that and had no problems at all. I would certainly do it again, and hope to buy some moogerfoogers at some point in the future from the same US dealer.

And it still works out cheaper than buying it here in the first place!
