MF-101 Mixer Knob

Post by karnevil78 » Wed Aug 01, 2012 3:30 am

Hi everyone,

I've just purchased a MF-101 LP filter to use with my Korg Prophecy
and it works/sounds great. Although I've noticed something strange,
and I'd like to find out if it's normal or there's something wrong with
the Mixer potentiometer on my unit.

I set up everything as the manual suggested, the Drive knob is just
below halfway so when I play the Prophecy the Level indicator is mostly
yellow.

If I play the keyboard with this setting: Envelope=0, Mixer=10 (all the way up),
Cutoff=20 (all the way down), Resonance=0 I can still hear (although extremely softly)
the input signal leaking through. If I plug in my Yamaha FC-9 expression pedal
into the Mixer input of the MF-101 and turn the Mixer knob down to 0 so that
the pedal controls the Mixer signal, with the pedal I can make the MF-101 completely
silent, there's no input signal leaking through.

I guess it's because the FC-9's pot has a bigger resistance than the MF-101 Mixer,
but I'm not an expert. It would be good not to have any leaking though with the Mixer
turned all the way up.

Can anyone please confirm if this is normal or not?

Thanks very much in advance?

If anyone interested, Andy's confirmed that this is normal.

Anyway the more I use this filter the more I love it! It's so addictive :)
