Arp Menu Slim Phatty, Missing the good stuff.

Post by JustLucky » Sat May 19, 2012 10:58 pm

It's my first post, I'm sorry in advance for breaking any rules.

Also, I searched the existing forums first, but didn't find this issue.

I recently purchased a Slim Phatty, which I love. In the user manual, it mentions great things, like being able to select how many octaves the arpeggiator will play, and the pattern (up, down, etc). I have the menu, I know where it is, and I am not just missing it because of a lack of intellect, I promise.

I have updated to the newest firmware, and still these options elude me.

There is a menu for timing, BPM, gate length, etc, but there is absolutely nothing that allows me to select how many octaves, or the pattern.

Any help would be great, I assume it's some magic button I press to make everything show up. :D Oh, and to be clear, I am accessing the ARP menu from the Master button, and my version is 3.1 build 680.

Thanks in advance for your help!

(what he said) 'typhy' is correct.

But just to add to his post; there are two levels of settings for ARP (and for LFO sync for that matter); that which is 'local' to a patch, and a global setting which may optionally apply to any patch.

The idea is that you can have a very specific ARP rate and sync setting per Patch if you like and this is stored with the patch (including Midi SYNC) OR you can refer (from within each patch) to use the Global settings which apply to source, rate, clock divider.

The point is that when you are 'offline' from a Midi environment (for example), you merely need to change the clock source in one location rather than on each patch. Likewise, if you want to leverage a common source for most patches, you can do this and still have a non-Midi rate for the patches that you wish to manually control via the LFO rate knob.

Hope this additional information helps

Advanced Preset > Arp > press enter
But just to add to his post...
Thank you both, I'll check it out tonight. I figured there was just something I was missing completely, the user manual had them all lumped in together, I assumed they were in one place.
