In my current setup i've got a M-Audio Axiom Controller and a Slim Phatty as well as an M-Audio Fast Track pro for audio.
Currently i've got it set up so that the Axiom is connected via USB to a laptop running ableton and the MIDI OUT port of the axiom goes to the Midi in of the SP. The SP's audio output is then connected to the Fast Track Pro so I can record it. This way I can control my AU's/VST's with the controller as well as the SP, but the only problem is that I cannot send midi out from the laptop to the SP. I'm looking for a way to rig up the SP and the controller where I can use the controller to play the SP and also control my AU's and also have the option of sending midi out to the the SP directly from the computer and not through the Axiom.
Basically, the Axiom is sending MIDI via USB to the computer and at the same time, Via the MIDI OUT port to the SP. I'm happy about the fact that I can use a single controller to control both, my VST's and the SP in this setup, but I would also like to be able to send midi directly from the laptop to the SP(say from an arpeggiator or a recorded midi clip). Any ideas on how I could hook this up?
