No sound?

I just purchased a Slim phatty, and got it home. im trying to use a novation sl mkII midi controler and fl studio ,and Maschine, to try and send midi data to the slim phatty. I get a little arrow that pops up in the lcd screen of the moog but no sound? I tryed hooking a external audio source thru the moog using the audio in but still got no sound ? am i doing something wrong im really confused here been working at this for about 3 hours...

make sure the OUTPUT ON/OFF is on (red LED on). Also make sure the filter cutoff isnt turned all the way to the left. Make sure you are have the cable plugged into the Audio Out and not the In. Try plugging headphones into the headphone jack to see if you're getting any output. Maybe try the "restore factory" option under system utilities in the master menu.

Make sure you don't have anything plugged into the CV ports, especially the Volume CV When I first got my SP I was excited about patching and hooked up all the CV ports to a patch bay, and it was an hour or two before I realized this was the cause of me not being able to get any sound of of it. =)

Just to follow up on this my Moog was in fact defective out of the box and had to be returned to the store purchased from. Witch surprised me from such a well known and praised company.... they must have a tester who got his job because he know someone or is a friend of the family so they wont fire him
