A relaxing track for You

Post by PHC » Fri Sep 30, 2011 4:53 am

As a kind of passing summer requiem I made a nice, relaxing track feat. grasshoppers that I recorded in the countryside (where I moved permanently 3 months ago).

Kick, crash, e.piano, vibraphone, pads from Logic
Bass, Sequences, Effects and Lead voice - LP arpeggiator, MidiMuRF + 2xMF-101 for stereo filtering + rest of my setup (http://knobz.net/gear.html)

I also have some rain sounds recorded, I think I'll make an EP out of those nature sounds combined with moog sounds, so stay tuned.

Have a nice, relaxing listen (headphones recommended)

Wow its amazing how you have made a track that sounds effortless and beautiful. I had a look at your website and you sure have a lot of gear. I love the look of your website as well.

I was trying to play something on the top of your track but nothing worked.

Thank You for Your kind words on my track and my site. I hope to update soon.
I'm in the middle of building a house and a stable with my wife, so things are pretty tight right now.

I tried to record a stereo filtering tutorial yesterday, but after I've set up the gear a beatiful sequence emerged,
I quickly pressed REC and I have a 5min knob-improvised solo. I added rain sounds I recorded in the summer and some other synth stuff and I'll post this track soon.

Just finished a second one. The "bleeps" part are two MF-101 low-pass filters with resonance with opposite sample and hold voltages applied, some envelope follower and me tweeking the resonance. Essentially the improvisation is played by the mashine itself, I do minor tweeks.

Some MIDI Murf also there. Bitcrushing in the end via WMD Geiger Counter. Rain recorded via Tascam DR-100.

Great sounds. After the 3 minute mark, it became very trippy. Keep up the great work!

I really enjoyed listening to that track, thanks PHC. Your website is great, I bookmarked it when I first found it. The Synth tutorials are very much appreciated, as well as all your other pages. I find myself checking back there regularly to see if you have anything new up!
:D

P.S. I missed this link http://knobz.pl/Rain.mp3 - I'm listening to it right now! Very trippy!
Cheers,

The Rain track sounds to me like the sound track to an Alien off world landscape. With red oceans spread into infinity and skies of misted stars, with illuminated bird songs chirp in the background. It makes me feel lost and happy to be.
