Little Phatty II Alternative Tuning.

Post by ollie633 » Mon Jun 20, 2011 4:56 pm

Hey People! ive just recently downloaded the new OS3.1v software for my Phatty which was all successful and i am having loads of fun with! but there is one thing that i would love to use but don't seem to be working for me so i was wondering if anyone could help me :).

Ive downloaded the Tuning file and software from the MOOG website and i got it all up and i hooked my Phatty II up with MIDI.

I selected one of the presets on the tuning scale window which was "Turkish Rast" I hit the send button at the bottom, and it says it recived it on my Phatty, but i am hearing no changes what so ever i've tried it with other tunings as well but still nothing,

can anyone help me out here? Would be really appreciated! :)

Try going to the Master menu -> TUNING SCALE; once you have scales loaded into memory you still have to select a scale here to make it active.
Turkish Rast is a good one to start with because it sounds pretty obvious; some of the Just Intonation and Pythagorean type tunings are extremely subtle, especially when playing only single notes at a time.

You can select a tuning scale globally from the TUNING SCALE menu, or you can go to the ADVANCED PRESET menu to program a tuning scale for only the active preset (save the preset and when you load the preset, it will load the selected tuning scale)

I did what you said to above Amos, but im still not noticing any change in the tunings on my Phatty, i even tried to edit some of the note frequency cent's but still nothing, Really have no idea what the issue could be, as it says on the phatty when i send the Scale it says its being received...

And also ive once its in the memory ive selected the Scale patch number and nothing still Hmm...

Hate to resurrect an old thread, but where can the Phatty Alternate Tuning editor download be found? The two pages on MoogMusic I found didn't have a download link and I can't find it in simple navigation of the site.

Is it no longer available? I really, really, hope not.

Fantastic...thank you so much. I was looking in the Slim Phatty/Little Phatty section of the site.
