Stage I noise free ICs

Has anyone had the modification to their stage I to replace the ICs with quieter ones that reduce the interference noise. I was wondering how effective it was. HHB in the UK have quoted me £41 parts, plus £130 labour plus VAT to carry out the work. If it sorts out the interference noise I would go for it, but I'm just wondering how effective it is, and what effect it has on the sound of the LP. If anyone who has had this mod could let me know what difference it made I'd be very grateful. Thanks. :)

I'd be interested to know what ICs they remove, what their purpose was and what ICs they are replaced with. It all smells very audiophile to me.
