Is it possible to initialize a patch?
Without using the editing software? I can do it, but only if you buy the full version for $70
I've been over it again and again, surely there's a way to initialize a patch, do I really have to always work from a preset that may already have deep advanced menu functions enabled? I want to start from scratch.
Thanks, this is my first post!

Re: Is it possible to initialize a patch?
never really thought of wether or not there was a way to do it through the OS...
I always just turn 1 osc off, reset the filter and envelope controlls to the beginning manually... than start new... the controls are so intuitive it only takes a few seconds usually.

Re: Is it possible to initialize a patch?
You could create your preferred initialized patch, and save it to a location. From then on you can save that preset to another spot and work from there. Only disadvantage is you give up one memory location to keep the init patch around.
I realize that doesn't answer your question though. welcome.

Re: Is it possible to initialize a patch?
My preference is to save the Calibration patch to whatever program I want to initialize.

Re: Is it possible to initialize a patch?
I also use the Calibration patch as a starting point. The nice thing about it is it can't be overwritten.

Re: Is it possible to initialize a patch?
hrm, in a pinch that works terrifically!
I hadn't really thought of that. Didn't really know what the calibration patch was for, but it does sound basic enough
Most of the internal patches have some complex under the hood stuff going on (at least a little bit), enough to throw me off when trying to create a basic patch.
At the moment I've got the Moog 40 year anniversary issue of Keyboard and I'm trying to program the 'Wakeman Wah' patch. I've been working with synths for 12 years and I'm learning a lot with the 'hands on' approach of the Moog. The Mopho was my first analog synth a couple years ago, then the Phatty about 6 months ago. My world has forever been changed.
Thanks for all the replies guys, I had no idea how active this forum would be!

Re: Is it possible to initialize a patch?
I was asking the same question today -- how to initialize a patch on the LP for a clean starting point. Do most people use the Calibration patch as a starting point?avj wrote:I also use the Calibration patch as a starting point. The nice thing about it is it can't be overwritten.
I started playing around with SysEx Librarian today, and it looks like a good tool for storing patches, such as an init "template" and anything else for that matter. http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/
