Consider by many, of those that actually care, to be the first acid house album, though acid house started independently (the album was discovered later)
Charanjit Singh - Synthesizing: Ten Ragas To A Disco Beat
Recorded in 1982 at HMV Studios in Bombay, India
Equipment: Roland Jupiter-8, Roland TB-303, Roland TR-808

I guess a polysynth is helpful too.
It has been reissued and worth a listen if you dig that style of music. http://www.bombay-connection.com/en_GB/ ... 1/releases

The story behind its creation and discovery are worth the read. (I currently can't find the link with the full story)

I didn't really want to get into it at the time, but Christ, that guy was full of it.

No doubt.

Thanks for the plug on Indian musicians using polysynths - I about fell over laughing when you produced the link. Undoubtedly the troll would say those Indians were no true Scotsmen.

Ignorant fools. You're gonna say that just because they're using a jupiter, that polysynths aren't cheesy. Herbie Hancock used a DX7, does that mean a DX7 is better than a moog? You shouldn't have rehashed this thread, I was content until you started taking potshots thinking I wouldn't read them. You are ruining the legacy of the Moog name with your ignorance. Polyphonic synths are dated and cheesy, and anyone here who wants moog to build a new one might want to try a penis pump instead. Besides, you might as well use a softsynth through an analog filter if you want chords. Chords are an extension of Western philosophy, complicate things in the name of convenience and sacrifice the real meaning of music. All Western music stems from Indian music, as all Western peoples come from Proto-Indo European peoples. Except modern society and the sheep who built it is not a step forward, but a step back. No one can argue that modern society is not ruining the earth, modern man, especially lazy American microwaving, cable watching, penis enlarging, idiots are evolving backwards. If you agree with me, call me a troll or something similar. Anyway, we can all agree that Robert Moog was a special man, a pioneer, a genius, and he never once designed a polyphonic synth, his crowning acheivement being the Voyager, an amazing instrument that many of you disrespect with your whining capatalist BS about Moog building a polysynth, people who jerk off to 80's dance music and wear member's only jackets. Bring on the homophobic racist comments, I'm ready.

What a waste of time; go do something better with your life. May I suggest you take a logic paper and/or learn how to formulate viable arguments.

I certainly hope you are a troll, because if that represents your actual thought processes I'd like to warn your neighbours.
