Hmmm, I see you MAQ has been ejected from your rack and placed up top. Is that because it doesn't match your color scheme : ) or because you are moving on to straight analog seq?

Curious to know how you like(d) it and how you feel it falls short (if you indeed feel that way).

Being so close to Doepfer, do you have any experience with the Maq 16/3 product that they sold years back? If so, a) how would you compare the capabilities and b) does the code base seem to have been developed from the Maq?

and sorry for my late response. Although I'm quite close to Doepfer (just 15km distance) I don't have any experiences with the mentioned Maq 163. But I'll ask Dieter when I'll see him again. This could be possible soon. And I'll keep you in touch herewith.

Actually the MAQ is on top so I can get to it. It has never been in the modular as it wouldn't fit the format.
I really like the MAQ. I feel it plays better with the Voyager than with the modular. This is because I can use the MIDI out to the Vger and use a row (Or 2) of the MAQ to effect MIDI CC's. At the same time, the analog CV and GATE can be used to drive the modular. Having memory is it's strongest feature for me. In it's most often used configuration here, the top row controls pitch CV. The middle row controls the GATE of the top row and is what I "play" live when it is running. The bottom row controls dynamics by feeding CV to my Moon VCEG. (At the same time it is doing the same to the VCA on the Vger through CC's.)
The Q-119 is relegated mostly to controlling filters and FM'ing or soft sync while the STG is my main pitch/rhythm sequencer as it is sort of a hybrid between the 119 and the 960 when it comes to control.
When work picks back up a bit, I'll order the 960. I already have the add-ons for it.

That demo is a COTK 960.

Thanks for the mention, Erick! The 960 I have isn't the COTK C960 but the Synthesizers.com Q960. I think the COTK version is about $400 more expensive than the DotCom version so it seemed and obvious choice. The module I was featuring was the COTK C961S which is a gate sequencer (the 1U module to the right with the vertical row of blue LEDs)

The 569 is very powerful.
Each row can go forwards, backwards or random and there's several modes and inputs to make the best use of the rows.
Selectable skip and gating per stage is great.
I wish it had a vc'd clock though and needed a 921 to a shift input to dupe that Tangerine Dream sound that relied on the 960 row 3 timing feature.
The transpose input is quite sensitive too, but can be managed.

Sorry I don't get over here to the Moog forum often. (but i love it so I keep coming back! )

In case you have seen it, I did a series of videos featuring the Moon 569 sequencer with each row running at a different tempo with NO EXTERNAL CLOCKS OR DIVIDERS NEEDED! Also there is a way to do skips AND resets on the same row at the same time. (see part three) The Moon 569 is a freaking monster sequencer!
