Bought a unit from the US and need a Australian PSU, I found one locally just wondering if they are all the same or do I need to buy a specific unit for that moogerfooger.
Cheers
Do all foogers use the same PSU
Re: Do all foogers use the same PSU
You want us to answer before knowing which fooger you have or make us ask which fooger you have?

Re: Do all foogers use the same PSU
Just picked up a 104z
from the conversation (very vague) I had with the salesman, I was under the impression that one size fits all, though I don't think he really new himself, so thought I would check here...
Dose this require a special PSU or dose the one size fits all cover this one?
Cheers

Short answer:
I've heard the MF-104Z can run on 200mA. But it ships with a 300mA supply as specified power requirements in the manual (p19).
Long answer:
1. TIP POSITIVE. Your Boss power supply will not work. Unlike the Boss style power connection, Moogerfoogers use TIP Positive connections. This is actually far more common outside of the world of guitar effects, & thus easier to find, making the cost of replacements lower.
2. 9V. The Moogerfooger series should be powered by +9 Volts. Not much more to say about this... 9 Volts is a very common value of wall transformer. That is why it was chosen.
3. 300ma. Moogerfoogers, having the bevy of options that they do, require more current then the average effect pedal.
The 101, 102, 103, 104Z, 104SD, 107 & CP-251 will operate on 200ma, but the 105 & 105B need 300ma. A supply of greater value, say 500ma, will work fine with any of the Moogerfoogers. 300ma is a good value to remember, as it will work with any & all of the Moogerfoogers.
4. A Voodoo Lab PP2+ works for all MoogerFoogers but they need the white barrel, positive center cables. The FreqBox needs a current-doubler (Y-adapter).
The MuRF and Delay needs to be plugged into the higher current outputs (5 & 6).
5. Isolation. For the most noise free & optimal performance of the Moogerfooger series, the power supplies must be TRANSFORMER ISOLATED. This means: No daisy chain supplies. No Digital Power supplies.
Products such as the "One Spot" & "Power All" will not provide the optimal powering conditions for the Moogerfooger series. They will work, but at the price of extraneous noise & so they are not recommended.
At this point you might be asking yourself "What could I use, aside from the Moog supply?"
Radio Shack sells Wall Transformers with inter-changeable tips. These are handy for emergency replacements. REMEMBER! 9 Volts 300ma (or more, 500ma is common & will work fine) & make sure the TIP is set to Positive "+".

Re: Do all foogers use the same PSU
Thanks DeFrag! ordered one today from a local crowed!
This info was a great resource!
Just hope my PSU arrives before my 104z, having the MF and not being able to use it will be very tormenting
Thanks again mate

Thanks DeFrag! That was a great post...
Re: Do all foogers use the same PSU
Moog has been coming out with 400ma power supplies for the MF series. I think they are for the MF108M and MF 104M or possibly just the MF104MSD. I got a couple of them and always make sure they are powering the BBD chips and Murfs.
