External Audio & the Minitaur
External Audio & the Minitaur
Has anyone had any issues with this? I tried running another synths output through the Minitaur and no sound is coming out through the audio out port.
Re: External Audio & the Minitaur
From the MT manual, p19:
"You can use the Minitaur to process any audio signal simply by plugging into the AUDIO IN jack. To hear the external audio signal, you will need a MIDI NOTE ON message. To hear the external audio signal without issuing a MIDI NOTE ON message, apply +5V to the GATE jack. This will leave the Gate open, and the Amplifier Envelope will remain at its Sustain level until the Gate closes."
Hope this helps...

There is also the Volume control of the external line input (CC#27 I think). Should be @ 50% by default but worth checking.GregAE wrote:From the MT manual, p19:

Re: External Audio & the Minitaur
I think this problem catches everyone out first time with audio input through an analogue filter. In most cases I've come across you need to trigger the envelope in order to hear anything. In the case of the Minitaur I guess that means turn the oscillators all the way down & hit a note on your MIDI keyboard or send a MIDI note event from your DAW. Moog filtering heaven for your audio input
God, I can't wait to get my Minitaur. Come on Moog! Get those muthas to the UK ASAP

Re: External Audio & the Minitaur
Hello all,
I'm trying to get an external audio signal through my Minitaur, without luck. I followed the directions above: I turned off the oscillators, and started sending a 'note on' signal from a looped Ableton clip to open the gate. All I get is a popping noise to the rhythm of the dummy note I'm using to keep the gate open (even with both oscillators off). Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Allan

Re: External Audio & the Minitaur
Envelope sustains to max. And of cause opening the filter reasonable.
keep on turning these Moog knobs

Re: External Audio & the Minitaur
Can you process a stereo synth through the filter, or mono only, since it seems to just have a mono in jack?
Re: External Audio & the Minitaur
Mono.
There is one filter only, therefor you need to mic a stereo signal to mono first.
