If you want to control a MInitaur from a USB-only controller keyboard, you can do it--but you need either a computer or a device that will stand in for a computer and negotiate the USB protocol.
If your USB controller is a "class-compliant" device--which means that you don't need to install special drivers on your computer in order to use it--then you can probably connect it to one of these, which you can buy in the USA here. This device will accept a USB class-compliant controller and put out standard MIDI on a DIN connector, which you can then connect to your Minitaur.
