speaker pop question

Post by prize » Sat Jun 25, 2005 5:26 am

just a quick question, it may or may not be stupid :P something that has been concerning me. When playing some presets I hear I a pop ( a sort of short tinny percussive sound) in the tweeter of the speaker. Happens mostly with the bass presets with very low attack on the volume, for example wreck*bass on the aniv. presets. The sound goes away when I move the attack on the volume up over 10MSEC.

Is this the nature of the sound or is there something else happening ?

cheers.

This is due to the actuall waveshape of this note being shaped by the VCA. Have look here about this "problem" in the Waldorf User FAQs I administrate:

This text was written by Wolfram Franke (ex Waldorf employee, now at Access Music)

After you read chapter 4, you know it is a kind of feature, showing how fast the envelopes are.

The envelops are snappy and fast (good thing). Yea, just adjust the Attack on the VCA and you'll be fine.
