You will LOVE the fact that when you adjust the height on either the stand or its optional "stackers," you simply loosen the height adjustor, pull it out, and when the stand or stacker reach the height you like, it snaps right in. After tightening the adjustor (for lack of a better term), you're set. It also has the maximum weight it can sustain printed on the label affixed to its legs near the base.

By the way, I have two of those stands and four stackers: one stand accommodates my Moog/Oberheim custom, plus a mixer, and the other supports my Minimoog Voyager plus the Eventide Space (and held my MacBook Pro as well at one point). The stackers not only add the second level, but they also extend its base. In other words, the part of the stackers that screw into the stand and extend outwards to support the synth on the main level are actually a couple of inches longer than the stock beams on the lower level. In any case, I tried many stands over the years... the fancy-looking Ultimate brand stands (that actually look like tall, plastic fire hydrants) are too wobbly when I tried them in stores, the X-stands have the disadvantage that if your synth is not wide enough, you'll have to rig the stand so that it won't be too high for comfortable seated playing, and the z-stand (which I now use for my racks) do not give you that springy "snap" into place when you adjust the height, like on the K&M.

Well I hope that helps buddy. I don't like using money for things like stands, so I like to know that when I spend the money it is on quality material. So if my response is a bit too long, don't mind me... I just know it could be a challenge to find a good, stable, well-built stand that is fairly adjustable and expandable.

Yeah, Spitfire, that might be the case. I bought my stand for $80 on E-bay...it's probably an older model. My guess is, they d/c'd the spring lock snap mechanism thingy in later models to save money? Anything's possible...

Ok, since no ones mentioned it yet . . . Quik Lok makes some of the sturdiest, most versatile stands that I've seen. I have the Z-model, and its very stable. QL is also great because all of their accessories are interchangeable. Check them out:

I looked at those. I don't like to spend a lot of money on stands, and Quik Lok's rarely show up on the used market. They are held in very high esteem, from people who have them.

Everyone has been extremely helpful. Spitfire, I checked out that website and it is gold, exactly what I've been looking for. The next couple of months I will be tight and i meantight on money, but come April when I buy the stand I will definitely come back to this thread to let you all know what I chose--and how it works out of course. Any recommendations for a stand where I can put the voyager + the VX, CP (maybe foogers too, although that will be a long way away) all in one?

As for the all-in-one solution, the same stand will do. Just buy the stackers separately as needed and you'll expand the hell out of it... I think you can have up to 4 or 5 pairs of stackers added on there. Maximum weight for the K&M Omega: 100 lbs. The stackers themselves take support up to 50 lbs. If you have the Minimoog Voyager on level one, and the VX, CP, and a few foogers on the second level, you'll be fine. I would post a pic of both my Minimoog Voyager Lunar Impact edition on one stand and the Moog/Oberheim custom on the other stand, but I have no clue how to post pics here. (I tried "flickr" but still, all I could post was a link to the pics and not the pics themselves).

I'm looking for a sturdy stand for my voyager that is taller than avarage. The stands i find are about 100cm at their highest but i vould need around 110-115cm for a more ergonomic playing.
Is there any stands that feels sturdy at that hight?
It would be nice if they're found in Scandinavia or Europe.

Stylistically, I like them because their width can be shortened so that the legs seem to exactly come from the corners of whatever keyboard you put on them. It's a very clean look; and nothing gets in the way of your pedals (even organ pedals).

Ergonomically, I like them because, at 6' 2", I can stand up tall and play.
