New Voyager owner - damn!

Wow - I've just taken delivery of, powered up and heard a Voyager for the first time. No-one told me how powerful these were. I can't believe how much grunt it has. It's not just loud, it's visceral - but warm at the same time. I must say that I'm mightily impressed - the overall fit and finish is quite superb, as is the quality of the keyboard - and certainly over what I'm used to (Behringer & M-Audio). This thing is gorgeous Electric Blue - I also listened to advice here on the forum and bought the VX-351, so I'll have fun playing with that soon too. I was so excited in the store (Sound Devices, Sydney) that I forgot to ask for a CV-controlled pedal. Oh well - a phone call tomorrow.

I can see what the reverence is all about now - a happy chappy.

Yes, this is a beautiful machine. It's actually teaching me so much more about subtractive synthesis because of the completely logical layout. The functions aren't ganged-up like they are on the Phattys, so it's far clearer to me what is going on when I tweak this knob or that. The whole thing is actually starting to sink in - so creating sounds becomes more of a reality rather than merely stumbling across them.

I've never heard a Phatty, is the sound so different to the LP ?

The slow pulse bass is C60 (Impact bass), the bass sweep is E32 (Here it comes) and the lead is one of my own.

The first thing I thought when i played my voyager after I got it was "DAMN!!!" It was awesome! I have a LP also, got that first, and they do sound different. The LP is way more grittier. It has more balls I think. It will pick you up, throw you against the wall, then drag your bloody body to the river. While the Voyager would hug you and love you then tear your heard out by sleeping with another guy, all while looking sexy as hell so you cant really get mad...

I have found that the Voyager is WAY better at sub bass then the phatty. It is also way more versatile in it's sonic capabilities. having two mod buses alone makes it epic. The only thing I wish it had was a 3rd envelope generator as an independent mod source. But thats a small gripe. I can just use a LP envelope out if i want to and plug that into either the mod 2 jack, or one of the other jacks if i want to use the second mod bus for something different..

Congrats omaroo! I finally got a voyager about three months ago and holy smokes.... it is amazing. Mine is a lunar impact performer edition. I would post pics but I don't know how on this forum.

My first note induced a mild panic! I could tell one of the Oscs was way out of tune, despite the fact their respective knobs were all where they should be- mod wheel was down, res was "off"- so I started thinking I'd got an out-of-the-box defective one! then I noticed the 2nd mod bus was set to: source= Osc3, dest= Osc 3, controller= velocity... phew!!
