You would hope the peeps listing the auction on eBay would be honest with listing all the issues/details of whatever they're auctioning!

But the Performer is still a good synth. And if you did get a Sig off eBay, I guess as long as you received all the proper documentation, the fix would be free from Moog by the extended warranty that comes with these units no?

Actually, accordiing to the description on the EB page, it's housed in a solid ash cabinet.

OK, so it's an ash cabinet . . but the spray job goes on quite thickly so you can't see the wood grain through the paint like you can on the AE. The unit would have to be made from at least a semi-hardwood so that it withstands the knocks, out on the road but given that the Ash gets sprayed i bet moog aren't looking for quality grain here.

If anyone's interested, the Signature on eBay mentioned in this string WAS perfectly described by Earth Music, and was not "faulty" (unlike around 25% of my analogs!!!) in any way.

It got to me very quickly, in mint condition, numbered and authenticated and in perfect working order (following a simple software update by the guys there, not a "repair").

It's difficult to describe how beautiful it is, and at the £1400 I paid (oddly the same I paid on eBay for a similarly satisfying mint A6 last year) I'm over the moon.

Anyway, for what it's worth, I won't hesitate to buy from them again, and (not for the first time) I've discovered that the old "if it looks too good to be true, it probably is" thing can block the odd bargain as often as it will save you from a bad deal.

More importantly, after the fun of dreaming of a Voyager, I now have one to play with (and doesn't it just MAKE you want to play with it!!)

to me too, the wood is importn`t, but what I realy want to know is: (I might have slept in the lessons, but ..)

What are the differenses between the models when it comes to the "inside" of the Voyager?

some "bloke" told me the SE´s had geuine oscilators from the 70´s ? ... is that so?

Sounds like your "bloke" doesn't know his a-- from his elbow. This is absolutly not true.

All the Voyager models are the same internally except the AE and EB have blue backlights.
