Moog Rogue key triggering problem

Post by human fly » Tue Jan 10, 2012 5:24 pm

my Rogue has a keyboard problem: one of the keys double-triggers now.
i haven't used it for a long time and this is new. it triggers key on and
key off. only one key does this. any idea what this could be? it has had
to travel more than i'd like, but always with great care and padded out.

Most probably the keyboard contacts that need to be cleaned. Even though they're gold plated, it is quite a thin layer and there is always a little oxidation (and/or accumulating dirt) taking place, especially after prolong periods of being unused.

Cleaning them with 99% pure isopropyl alcohol should take care of those contacts. Be careful not to bend them.

yeh, after initial freakout i started thinking that could be it,
or the slider liners breaking up/turning to gunk.
thanks for the tip/warning.
