Troubleshooting / Fixing USB Issues on Win 7 x64 (SP)

Post by Psychlist1972 » Wed Oct 26, 2011 3:12 pm

Hi

I just received a Slim Phatty, used. Firmware is listed as 3.1 when booting.

When I plug it into my PC via USB, Windows complains that it can't install a driver. It instead installs as a USB Composite Device, but a non-working one (little yellow icon in device manager). I saw at least one other thread on this forum with that reported, but no resolution (or at least no posted follow-up).

I've built all my own computers, and do this for a living, so I've done about all I can on the PC side. I suspect this is something on the SP. Is there a later firmware update that will help? I don't want to go through the trouble of updating via slow-poke MIDI if that's not going to fix the problem. I've downloaded 3.03, but I saw mention here of 3.04, but couldn't find that on the Moog site.

I ran into the same problem! Everything worked fine on my Windows 7 x86 (32 bit) version.
But I switched to Windows 7 x64, and now I can't use the Midi Via USB.

Please, is there any news about a new OS update that will fix this problem!

Thnx

Steph
