Whos going to the moogfest?

Post by mee3d » Mon May 16, 2005 1:30 pm

It just so happens that I will be in NYC for the moogfest . . I fly back to London on the 1st.

Anyone here going?

Anyone fancy meeting for a drink . . putting faces to names etc.

I will post later this week as I have a 4 day weekend but it is also our anniversary. If I cannot make it down we will definately get together this summer when you are back. The Source is working great once again, what a joy to have it back in my hands. Just orfered a Future Retro Revolution to go along with it - should make for some real fun as they are coming out with an Expander later this year to give it a semi modular slant.

I would go, but I'll be broke by that Teusday and can't afford tickets. It doesn't seem too thrilling without Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman and Bernie Worrell, anyway.

I'll probably be busy ordering a DVD copy of the Moog Documentary.

Otherwise, it'd be a blast to meet mee3d, among others. Are you still planning to immigrate to the States?

hey eric

I'm in NYC from this Friday night until the 1st . . basically I'm over every month for a week or so. Get the money together for the fest and we'll meet up.

Hey Mal,

Thanks for the encouragement. However, like I said, I'll be broke by the end of the month. Whatever money I'll have left is going towards something personal. Perhaps, we could meet in NYC, some other time. It's not personal!

I'm going.

My friend, Trevor Pinch, co-wrote the book, "Analog Days - The Invention And Impact Of The Moog Synthesizer". I'll be helping Trevor at his book signing/selling table.

I'll be attending both MOOG Fest 2005 and Ether Music 2005.

Hey two quick questions, is there any way to hear any of your music online? Also when trying to find your music online I saw a pic and noticed a moog prodigy. Can you tell me any patches you use for it? I have a bunch I made for my own and would like to share w/ others and hear their patches.

Hello,

I live within 20 minutes of B B King's. Will try to make it in. This month has
been surreal.

That's an EXCELLENT book, BTW. Covers Buchla, EMS, and ARP too.

You can hear our music here : http://www.sonicbids.com/thevoltperoctaves

I have yet to write down patches for the prodigy even though I have the patch sheets.. I like a strait forward Osc's in Unison sync 1-2 and tweek that pitch wheel buddy. The Prodigy has one of the best Osc Sync sounds !
Thats one thing the model D can not do. I love my Prodigy.. It was my first Moog and I feel that for most people wanting to get and learn a moog, the Prodigy is the way to go! I would love to see your patch sheets...

See yall there... (yall is California Hick slang for : you all ;) ) I am still trying to find a place to stay but all of those details are slowly coming together. Anyone in NYC wanna let the Opening band and their entourage crash for 3 nights ? (SUN MON TUE) Much appreciated and compensation for you would be for sheezle !

Thanks...

OH YES>>> ANALOG DAYS is awesome! I love that book, as I have read it cover to cover at least a half dosen times in the past 2 or 3 years.. Can't wait to meet Pinch/Torroco .... I like the fact that Brian Kehew is one of the only modern day Moog lovers mentioned in the book. He is the epitomy of modern day moog genius ! And a very cool guy... He deserved the attention the book gave him...

Well for patches I tried to start up a prodigy patches page: after 1 year one other person posted their own!

http://www.moogmusic.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=317

anyway on the page i posted one of my patches and made a template for people to post their own.
