My friends @ Analog Outfitters do tolex, tuning and various repairs on rhodes, wurlys, farfisa and Hammond/Leslie. Drop them a line.

A Rhodes suitcase in a wood finish? Mmmm, tasty.

Though if one was so inclined, tolex isn't TOO much of a hassle to work with. I personally am boggled by finishing wood.

A Moog and a Rhodes are made to be together. My Yamaha fills the void but... it's not the same.

Experimenting with new studio layout with a couple of Standastic stands

Strangely enough, everything is within easy reach (I'm 5'9"). I really like the Taurus pedals at an angle and slightly off the floor, still can be played with feet and it gives enough clearance to reach the higher stuff.

Wow MC. Very impressive.

Is that an OB-X on the right?

I just bought an Opus-3 and trying to figure out a way to stack it in with either:

Voyager Old School
Matrix 6
Taurus

or...

Little Phatty
88 key hammer action Midi controller

or..

some combination with a synth on top of my upright piano or Hammond.

It's a challenge to get these analog synths atop of one another and still be able to tweak all of the controls. I'm ordering an OnStage 8000 2nd tier to squeeze between either of my two stands. Will see how it works out. I have a feeling a setup such as what you are using is the only way. Will have to wait until I "get out" of the living room and into a purpose built space. Problem is that I spend too much time playing and no time working on the new area (room within a room in my garage).

Yes that is an OB-X

I've owned a variety of keyboard stands over the years. You can really pack 'em tight with the Standtastic and it is a strong and stable stand. The only disadvantage is the large footprint on the floor. Guitar Center has the tall one with two tiers on sale now - $179 free shipping.

MC,
Do those stands really work good?

I can't keep the Taurus underneath the Voyager with an X stand, and that is really keeping me from fully developing my pedal technique.

I want to put the Voyager at about piano height so that I can get proper posture from the ground to my wrists. I only really need 1 level because I think it's about time to just retire the MicroMoog altogether because I don't use it so much anymore.

Many stands will not fit Taurus pedals underneath. I'm a piano player and I like to use the Tauri (plural for Taurus?) so the Standtastic is the best solution I have found. The stand is not a fixed width, it can be varied wider.

I just recently bought a Crumar Orchestrator in pristine cosmetic and working condition. It produces some truly adorable string sounds, and passed through the lowpass filter on my Little Phatty the possibilities are near infinite. This newest edition makes my setup thus: Fender Rhodes suitcase 73, Crumar Orchestrator, and Moog Little Phatty SE II. The one thing I dislike about the Crumar is the shape: it is a tall keyboard, making it difficult to stack.

MC,
Like the new set up, esp. the " Beware of Owner" sign :). Are you putting the others in a side by side config or just analog world ?

I've toyed with doing a new set up in my studio, worked it out on paper a few times but for now the U shape with the audio world located at the open end of the U works best.... for now :)

I hesitate to even go on about what my rig is like at this time. It changes so often it makes the head spin. I hope to finalize the setup as I get the studio built out back.
But as far a gear, There is the 88 space 5U modular, The Voyager Signature, Ensoniq VFX-SD, Ensoniq Fizmo, Nord G1, JX3-P, MKS-30, CZ-5000, ARP Omni, Hammond A-100, Casio Pixma 800, Yamaha RX-5, Boss DR-770, 11 Foogers, 8 track and 2 track recorders, 16 channel recording mixer, RME interface to Reaper and 2 racks full of off board processors. There is a LOT of sequencing power and some really neat ways to create timbres.

I made a schematic of how I integrated my Moog SP into my studio setup:

Hi there,

Currently my setup includes a Voyager OS, Prophet 08, Clavia Nord Lead 2, Fender Rhodes Stage MkI 73, Fender Telecaster and other guitars, various outboard an stomp boxes including a MF-101 filter. Then there is a rack of retired samplers and romplers.

Now, the serious part is of course all the gear that has slipped away from me through the years. Many share this experience, I believe. Important instruments that I used to have include a Jupiter-8, Juno-60, SH-2, DX-7's, Clavinet D6, Hammond & Leslie, Suzuki Omnichords, etc.

Regards,
Sid

It is cropped off in the pic. The entire sign reads:

NEVER MIND THE DOG - BEWARE OF OWNER

Definitely me :D

I have a very authoritative bark that sends dogs slithering off with their tail between their legs. Never needed to hit an animal, they know who the boss is.

On one occasion some juvenile vandals threw a rock at my car when I was getting out of it. I confronted them with a very intimidating eye of the tiger and they froze with the fear of God in their faces. One of them finally spoke up and before he could finish I told them they can leave RIGHT NOW. That voice sent them running for their lives. Never saw 'em again.

Beware of owner, indeed.

Not sure yet - still thinking through the arrangement.

This must be the fifth time I've re-arranged. And probably won't be the last.

Love the whole sign , but yeah 'Beware of Owner" is about right… Might make one to put up in mine.

I've gone through my share of set up over the years also, the current one has been in place for about 11 years with minor changes. I added side tiers to the Three tier A frame. Using one of those now to hold cables :) . When I purchased the Motif 8 back in 2001 I picked up a Quik Loc to place it on. I have the second tier but need to put two more synths over top so using an older Ultimate X frame two tier placed right in front of the Motif. Works pretty well. The latest change is a two tier place in between the Quik Loc and the A frame to hold two synths. I have a few spare stand for going out to play or other fast setups around the studio.

Sure this won’t be my last set up also, just need the motivation to pull everything apart and rearrange. Have a few ideas on paper but that’s it.
