CV gate sync help plz

Post by Lazerface » Sat Jul 09, 2011 3:18 am

Hey guys,
having a bit of trouble getting my Retro Future Revolution sequencer to sync with the LP (gate out on the Revo to the KB gate on the LP)
just seems to hold the note, rather than trigger in sync..

I can get close to what Im after by pluggin the gate out into the volume cv in, but it'd be preferable for the envelopes to retrigger each time..

this is basically what im going for:

sorry if it's been covered elsewhere, had a quick search around the forums/web, couldnt find anything..

cheers

BUMP.

It occurs to me that the gate out on the revo appears to be 12 volts, compared to the moog 5 volt,
guessing i'll need to attenuate that somehow to get it to work correctly?

anyone got any suggestion about how I might achieve achieve that cheaply?
(without spending a few hundred on the cp 251?)
is it simply a matter of connecting a potentiometer to a couple of 1/4 jacks?
(im a complete electronics n00b sorry)

Hi

I use Doepfer A183 to attenuate the gate (from my A-155 sequencer). It has to be set very low to work. I have to do the same with the pitch CV or it is horribly out of tune. I really love the sound and quality of moog but I can't understand why moog doesn't go with todays standard when it comes to CV.

The good thing about the A183 attenuator is that it doen't need current so you don't have to get a chassi and it is cheap. think there is a thread here (or at Doepfer forum) on how to tune the moog with attenuator.

Hope it works,

Lars

you guys were really helpful this, even without knowing it. i will get my mfos sequencer built with that doepfer unit (because it also puts out 12V). you've saved me from a lot of trouble. so anyway, thanks! :)
