Update Little Phatty Stage 1.03 to new v3.1

Hi, this is my first post to the MMF. I just purchased a used
LP Stage 1 yesterday and I LOVE it! I was planning on buying a new
Stage II but this came up locally, was super cheap ($600) and absolutely mint.
I'm really excited, this is my first Moog.

I saw the new v3.1 update and would like to update my firmware.
My LP is currently v1.03Sc
I've read the instructions and feel comfortable with all the steps
for the most part, but my question is this... can anyone recommend
a connecting USB to MIDI device so that I can use to load the firmware?
(No USB on the Stage I)
I have seen people mention the M-Audio Uno. Would a device like
this work well for this application? I have a MacBook Pro OS 10.6.6.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. The reason I ask is
because I have a Digi 002 Mixer and saw that it was not recommended
for this process. I have also read of people running into problems
while trying this update on a Stage I and then having to use the Debugger to fix a locked
up LP. I rather not have to do all of that if there is a more secure and
effective way to load the firmware the first time.

i hope its not too late because it is for me and happend today.

I tried the update and you need the v2 update before you can update to v3.
My LP is hanging/waiting for thte right update but no solution yet.
Hope support will help me.
