SP/Voyager Polychain?

Post by jupiterrex » Tue May 24, 2011 12:03 am

Has anyone polychained a SP with a Voyager? Being the synth engines are a bit different between the two I would like to know how it works and if it is worth it.

Rosser Douglas, one of the tech support members at Moog, was kind enough to take the time to respond to my inquiry (ESP during their move). Here is what he said:

"The Slim and the Voyager certainly can be chained together to achieve polyphony. The only difference is that the sound engine within the Voyager is slightly different than the Slim. The LP and Slim have virtually identical sound engines and it will sound more like one synth whereas the Voyager and Slim have different filters, modulation busses, FM options, Sync, etc. This will cause them to sound slightly different to sharp ears. They work perfectly fine with one another however.

Yes, both the Voyager and the Slim can be affected by Moogerfoogers independently from one another. They will not sum the audio automically, and you have the option to run the signal out of each into their own effect. I hope this helps."
