In these short clips, David Morley of R&S records talks about his favorite synths.
It features an -according to him- improved version of the Moog Modular(Polyfusion)
He's also got some other gear in there, some classics but also some prototypes.
I'll try to contact the author of the article and see if I can post a translation of it later.
Or if he reads this, then perhaps...

I've used a very large Polyfusion system a bunch of times. Nice system with some interesting touches. The background is more or less true. Past the early 70s Moog developed their modular less and less. Two ex-Moog employees started by doing custom mods to Moog modulars and branched out in 1976 with their own modular trying to improve on the for practical purposes no longer improved on Moog Modular. They stopped selling them in 1982. Aside from rumors they sold some Moog clone filters, their modules seem to be original, though clearly tweaking and expanding concepts seen in the Moog. The form factor isn't Moog compatible but it's similar down to the utility rows of short wide modules. Electronics of course were more advanced by then so of course and since Moog never made a new generation of modular it was probably the nearest new system to one. Their original HP and LP filters have been cloned by Modcan in recent years.

Thanks for the info on the Polyfusion. Prior to this, I had never heard anything about it.

Hi there
David Morley here
I may have the English version of the document as I sent it in English to the magazine.
The Polyfusion is growing on me more and more. I was probably more west coast (Buchla, Serge) when it comes to synthesis BUT the 2600 has always been my main synth so I suppose I enjoy it all. The thing that get's me about the Polyfusion is the quality of it all. It just goes where you want it as it is in-tune, stable, has a huge range (both audio range and dynamics) and is very musical IMHO. It perhaps doesn't have quite the richness of early Moog stuff (little does!), but it can go places that others can't (especially FM and complex modulation stuff) and for me, that makes it more useable and more rewarding. My R.A.Moog Minimoog does the Moog thing nicely so I'm covered there..
Cheers
David
