I think you guys are talking about a call for features for OS4. OS3.x is down and dusted and it's minor features and bug fixes from here.
So thinking bigger, how about resurrecting the step sequencer wishlist, that would be a killer feature and not too much code required as it could use the ARP note stack. Not much memory left for new functionality so gotta narrow down to modest feature set such as:
1. Go into the step record mode by holding down the AMOUNT button (same code that scans for hold of RATE button for tap temp can be used);
2. Allow a stack of notes to be played one after another (up to 32? if that's the stack size for the ARP) AMOUNT button blinking during step record mode;
If AMOUNT button is pressed momentarily, then records a "no note" for SKIP step
3. Hold down AMOUNT to come out of sequencer step record mode
No need to have anything fancy on display except 'STEP SEQ. RECORD' on the top line of LCD and 'Hold AMT to exit'' on the bottom line.
Once done, let ARP code play with ARP loop, order, clock divider settings.
IF a SKIP step is too sophisticated to code into the normal ARP play algorithm, then only allow ON notes. And it doesn't have to be billed as a full Step sequencer but rather a Step Record mode of the ARP.
Just one more to add to the list.
