SP stuck or dropped notes
A follow up on the stuck note issue I mentioned in an earlier thread where I mentioned that sometimes a note gets stuck on my SP: I also found sometimes a note doesn't register even though a key was definitely pressed. I worked out it only occurs when I'm using DIN MIDI in. It happens with several different MIDI cables and keyboards, and these cables & keyboards don't have this issue with my other synths. No MIDI loops are happening either, this is with only MIDI out from Keyboard, tested with nothing else in the setup.
It doesn't happen with MIDI over USB.
The funny thing is that on the times when I get a stuck or lost note it's not always when I'm playing fast. But it does seem that for whatever reason the serial port for din MIDI in is dropping the occasional byte.
Solution: try to always use USB on the SP.

An even better solution: make sure your power circuit has a good earth. I got to thinking about this after reading about how sensitive some Moog gear is about requiring a decent ground. I'm not sure yet, but it looks like the stuck and dropped note via DIN has gone when I moved the Slim onto a different circuit.

I have the same issue with my phatty... The only solution I found to stop this while im playing is putting the power switch off, then on. I actually thought that was because my computer was lagging or something but its nonsense because the key is not only stucked in midi, I also hear it coming directly from the phatty from the audio output when local sound is set to on.
Re: SP stuck or dropped notes
I have same issue when using my wx11 controller via midi.turn off power is only solution so far.
Re: SP stuck or dropped notes
OK, looking into this now. We definitely don't want stuck notes! Missing notes aren't good either.
If I find the source of the trouble in the firmware, I'll release an update for the Slim as well as including it in the upcoming v3 update for the Little Phatty.
Remember that in addition to turning off/on the power, there's also an "all notes off" command on the Master Menu, MIDI SETUP page.

Re: SP stuck or dropped notes
Hi all,
I am working on a SP firmware update now... I've fixed the patch-name-saving bug (very sorry about that one BTW),
and I think I may have fixed the dropped/stuck note issue also, but this needs more testing.
Does anyone who's had stuck or dropped notes on their Slim Phatty want to beta-test this update? I'd appreciate some feedback, to know if the problem is resolved for you. If so, email me at amos at moogmusic d0t c0m...
Thanks,
Amos

Re: SP stuck or dropped notes
I'm wondering what the progress is on this? I'm on my second Slim Phatty (first one was returned due to dropped and stuck notes a few weeks ago). I just received my replacement and am experiencing the exact same issue! All I'm doing is pressing two different keys in rapid succession (i.e. F# and A#). As this is my very first Moog, I'm very disappointed thus far. The SP is connected via MIDI to another keyboard. Turning on/off does not fix the problem.
Please help!

Re: SP stuck or dropped notes
Well, after a few curse words followed by trial and error, I *think* I figured out my problem. Originally, I had the SP connected to my MicroKorg. I swapped cables... same result. The only other keyboard that was within MIDI cable distance was my CS1x which was previously MIDI'd to my Mopho (the rest of my synths are against a wall behind me). So, I connected the SP to the CS1x and everything worked as it should. Praise Jebus!
