Little Phatty Octave-MIDI Question

I am having trouble automating the octave control on OSC2 in Ableton Live. I realize this parameter runs on MIDI channel 75, but whenever I automate this parameter in Ableton, I get sporadic results as to the Octave. Has anyone else experienced this?

I am a new user by the way. Happy to join the family here! :D
