Roland PK-5 footcontroller and the Lil Phatty

I am primarily a guitar player though I need to jump to synth from time to time. I have a Moog Lil Phatty which I love and I was wondering if I could add a Roland PK-5 foot controller for hands free operation. When plugging in an external controller does it negate the use of the keyboard? Can both controllers be used /always on? For some parts I need to play full blown passages on the keys and others simple bass pads will do while playing guitar over top

I believe you can do what you want. If it doesn't work right away adjust the midi settings to midi in DIN, and local control on.
