I guarantee you it will sell like hotcakes. Guarantee you. Do you have any clue Mike Adams the gear lust inspired in those of us who have not been able to fork over the 2000 USD during a limited run sale?

Imagine added expanded CV connectivity, producers and djs processing their audio through the Taurus filter, thousands more people shaking molars and bones to evoke new blessings of the name BOG MOOG.

Think of it as a nod to the Taurus 2 with a full on Taurus 3 engine - just mount it on a custom Moog stand, midi it to some PK-5s.... Sell it for about 1000 dollars....

Cyril, Mike.... you can't lose with this one. You just can't.

Or how about a new fooger with the Taurus filter? The BULLFOOGER, anyone????

There's a Taurus 3 with my name on it nearby - no one in this town buys new Moog gear very often - it's a very digital town, everywhere you look. Even the biggest electronic musicians in the city use Korg, Nord, Roland and all kinds of digi modules. They can't even sell Moogerfoogers at our local Moog dealers - and only ONE of them will even bother carrying the keyboards.

Perhaps (in time) we'll have the pedals in our home if someone doesn't grab them before I do and I can remotely afford to save up for them (times are different since I bought the Minimoog Voyager) - but something like you have mentioned would be more desirable as I want those special filter and oscillators and the ability

1) to save up for them without fear of losing a chance to own them
2) to tweak with the instrument at eye level without taking up as much space as the Taurus 3 or dealing with the weight issue of the instrument on a top heavy portable stand
3) to process external audio aggressively ...AND....
4) nothing on the floor during a gig in a bar unless I choose to do so with a foot controller

.... all the above without forking over the 2000 USD for the pedals (and a whole lot of worry every time a drunk person leans over the Taurus 3 pedals with a sloshing tottering beer in hand to shout "play Freebird" at me while I'm busily soloing on Herbie Hancock's Chameleon on my high-up mounted Voyager and Phatty) as well.

We can dream.

I say excellent idea, Veeger! An MF-106 Low Pass Taurus Filter! I also like the idea of a Taurus IV...A rackmount Taurus III without the pedals, so that someone with PK-5's or similar won't have to settle for a one octave range.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the Taurus IV. At least they can pay a sort of homage to the Taurus II without making the same 80's mistake of putting an inferior sound engine for bass making in the brain/module. Yep. Taurus IV should be an RME that's all Taurus III and THEN SOME. I really think that this RME idea or the MF-106 that made you so very happy would be a killer addition to the line. Let's face it, the Taurus filter is one of the things that really makes people jump for the bass it makes.

But my understanding is that those oscillators are also part of the magic. So I keep thinking an RME is what they would profit from making. I truly think that buyers are out there.

Yes to both! I would love to see a "SlimTaurus" and a Taurus-based 'Fooger filter. I love my T-3s, but my one real gripe is the sheer size and weight of the beastie. I already own a set of PK-5s, and there are times when I bring them (along with my Roland JP-8000) to gigs instead of the Taurus, simply because I can load them by myself much more easily than the T-3s in their tank-like road case, not to mention the old "digitaurus" setup takes up much less room in the already overstuffed Ford Escape. I couldn't justify buying a "SlimTaurus" when I already own T-3s, but I do think there is a viable market for them - I would have gone "slim" had they been offered at the same time as the T-3s.

I totally want to go slim - with audio processing. It does sound like a great idea. A totally great idea.

i just purchased a second set of Moog Taurus 3 pedals, seller described them as about a month old, for US $1425.00 on eBay. If you really want a set - just watch eBay. There are plenty up there in the US$1750 range.

I have fantasized about a RME Taurus 3 since I saw the first images of the Slim Phatty. The most alluring part of a RME, aside from the obvious benefits, would be the likely implementation of...KNOBS!

Yes, of course it makes complete sense ergonomically for a bass-pedal synthesizer to have wheels, buttons, and footswitches over knobs, but that's not the point; the ergonomics would need to change to better fit it's intended use. The point is that I'm a tweaker and my Taurus 3 sits under my workstation -- being my primary synthesizer. Quite odd, I know, but I am absolutely in love with the sound although the note-sticking -- especially when using MIDI -- is heartbreaking as I've had to put off live performances for six months now in hopes that the OS fix spoken of on the microsite a year and a half ago was right around the corner. Thankfully, it appears Amos' next priority is the Taurus 3 -- post-108m (which we probably won't see until September).

While I think this may forever remain a fantasy, the idea of having the sounds of more than one Taurus III running at once -- being able to control the parameters of the bass-pedal version with the second RME unit (imaginably having all the new Slim Phatty perks like LFO KB triggering) -- sounds down-right eargasmic.

P.S.
The "limited run" wasn't limited to 1,000 unit sales; serials have been submitted to the dedicated microsite that exceed 1000 (and this was months ago).

A pipe-dream perhaps, but one I have had for most of this year. It is nice to see that someone else has been GASin' on the dreamscape just as I have been!
