Hi all,
I currently have two semi-modular mono rack synths, the Future Retro XS which takes 4 rack spaces and an Analogue Solutions red square v2 which takes 5 rack spaces. I have one 16 unit wall rack and I plan on getting a second one. I want to combine the FRXS and red square with a voyager RME, cp-251, vx-351, vx-352 and a mf-104z. I think I can rack the vx-351 and vx-352 with the VX-CP Rack Kit. How would one rack the cp-251 and mf-104z together? With 2 16 unit wall racks, any practical tips on what to put where? Maybe I need a patch bay too?

The MoogerFooger Rack Shelf will hold three Foogers or 4 CP sized units.
You can fit the 104 and CP in a Fooger rack shelf, which takes up 6 spaces.
You can actually fit 2 CP units on top of eachother and a Fooger in one Fooger rack shelf.
The Fooger racks are 6 spaces tall, but you really need a space above them to patch.
THe CP units are 3 spaces tall.
You probably knew that anyway.

And if you can drill a few holes, you can put 1 CP sized and 2 Foogers in one rack. (I've got a 251, ring modulator and phaser in one rack plate.)

Thanks for the useful comments, I think I now know how to rack things.
I'm still trying to figure out how I can use the cp251, vx351, and vx352 and an RME with my existing FRXS and red square. Using the expanders to some of the foogers seems clearer to me. Both those semi-modulars accept midi so I'm not sure if I'd use the RME and expanders as a controller for them. For example, the red square has a VC LFO "mod input" , how could I control it via moog gear? Via the expanders and the cv mixer, what could you do with them and some semi-modulars? I have no plans to go full modular at the moment.

Re: Racking a bunch of moog stuff + a few semi-modulars
I have an FRXS and like to use the cp251 LFO to modulate the Pulse Width of the FRXS adds a little moog flavor to the FR. It can also be interesting to modulate the filter with it as well. it can be cool to patch an LFO into the offset on the CP 251 and send that signal into the CV in of the FRXS. can get some wild tones that way too, also try using the sample and hold module too for crystal computer sounds. Its really endless. Try using CV and Midi at the same time with the XS. It has some interesting tricks too. I'm always reading through that manual as it has some really useful tips. You could also send the FRXS raw oscillator signals to the audio input of the voyager adding a different flavored sound to blend with it while using all the envelope shapes of the voyager.
