How do I trig the LFO cycle? (Amos? Anyone?)

Is it any way I can set the LFO cycle start?
For instance if I want it to sync with the sequenser bars in my daw?
Is it possible to "trig" the LFO cycle from its start position, or does it always run for itself?

The OS 2.0 software update adds the LFO sync feature.

You have a Tribute Edition? Apparently those models require a hardware update in order to use the new OS.

Thanks, yes I have done both the hw upgrade and sw upgrade to OS2.01TE.

The LFO sync is one thing (that works fine), but the LFO cycle start position is not synced with my daw's bar start position.
That means that if I would like to use f.i the saw tooth LFO Source (upper left) it follows the right pace but triggs between the beats instead of on them.

So I still wonder, is there someway to trig the LFO cycle starting point?

Hmm, OK I see what you mean now. When it syncs up, the cycle of the wave could be at any point depending on where it was in the "free running" mode.

What you need is some sort of "retrigger" function for the LFO, to start the cycle over at the beginning, and I don't think the LP has that. It has a retrigger option for the envelope, but not the LFO from what I can tell.

Maybe you can experiment by manually lining it up using the Tap Tempo function?

How do you mean?
Doesn't that conflict with the need to set the LFO sync mode to "MIDI"?

I meant, try getting it as close as possible to the correct "start point" using tap tempo, then switch on the sync function. I don't know if it would work, just a thought.

I just discovered that you have to check these boxes in Cubase, to sync the start positions:

Under the menu
"Transport -> Project Syncronisation Setup -> MIDI Clock Out -> MIDI Clock Destinations"

Check:
"MIDI Clock follows Project Position"
"Always send start message"

Now it works!

I still cant get it to work 100%. It clearly syncs it a lot better now having all these options ticked but when looping around a section the LFO cycle isnt smooth. Everytime the note starts you can tell that the cycle got retriggered.
Such a shame as this makes the LFO not really usuable for rhythmic effects.

I guess if you're using a DAW to record, the easiest workaround would be to record it off-sync and then move the recording to fit the track later? Otherwise most DAWs have latency dials, perhaps a fiddle with this may work?
