Will the freqbox provide a true 3rd osc for the phatty?
Will it sound more like a 3 osc synth, or is it just some what of an effect of a 3rd osc?
Thanks
phatty and freqbox question
Re: phatty and freqbox question
If you have the CV out mod it can act as a 3rd OSC. The freq box's signal is hot and the LP in does not have an attenuator, so; you will need to attenuate the Freq box signal to get it to mix nice.

Here's video of a FreqBox connected to a Little Phatty.
In this case the audio from both devices is going to an
external mixer:

It's a true 3rd OSC. What you do with it after the OSC out is up to you. As mentioned, you can attenuate the signal (either with a 351 or CP-251 or a plain ole' mixer) and then pipe it back into the Little Phatty Audio in so that it can be acted upon by the KB gate/Filter and envelopes...
OR (!!), send it else where.. as an example, I've sent it to a MF-101, then used a Multipedal with a channel to 'listen' for Midi notes to trigger an envelope wired to the 101's cutoff. I used the Wait/Delay parameter to add a bit of complexity to the resulting sound.
I have a bunch of footage taped walking through this but haven't edited it yet. Will post on YouTube next week assuming I get it all together.
Foogers are great. I'd really like more than one FreqBox and Filter but right now (as always), money is the issue!
I've used my Old School's filter and envelope generator triggered by the LP's Gate output in the same manner as above, but it's a shame to waste the entire OS for just a simple env generator and filter, however the filter in the OS is very good.
Using a multipedal for env is a very good application because you are leveraging only one of the four channels and there is something about integrating Midi with CV that is pleasing. Just what the good Doctor ordered... if he could only see the uses of his legacy among the masses, he would be proud.
