how to remove the type label plate for shifting?

Post by Toni » Thu Jun 10, 2010 9:02 pm

Hi,

my voyager Performer is now some weeks old, so far, so good.
But sometimes ....
it brings me pain to my eyes.....
The minimoog voyager label is not placed exactly in the middle of the cabinet, nor exactly in the middle below the touchpad.
It seems to me, that the plate is only sticked on the wood?

How can it be removed, without damaging anything, and place it, f.e. at the right side.
Or is it not possible ?
The other is, that the edges of the label are sharp as a razorblade.
So I have always to be carefully with the touchpad, when my finger are searching a for a stable base, for movings....
on the toughpad.
So, maybe anyone of you did something similar before?

Well... Someone may hunt me down for doing this, but I removed the nameplate for similar reasons.
I put it on a used sticker pad (thin plastic backing for self-adhesive labels) and put it in a drawer.
There was no great effort to remove it, and nothing sticky left on the Voyager. Now a fine, long
piece of cabinet looks at me.

hi magnet,

just want to say thank you for the advice - I made it !!
and it worked without any problems, nor damages on the wood.
The adhesion is very sticky, and I was concerned about killing the plate - but everything is ok.
Many thanks.
Now it FEELS VERY GOOD and it LOOKS BETTER, too (my point of view).
