Tuning the Voyager

Post by Dazz » Sat May 15, 2010 5:37 am

Hello everybody, I have this question:

recently I updated the Voyager OS to 3.5.
Now, I could be wrong about this, but does it change the tuning of the Voyager?
I noticed that the whole instrument was down a couple of semitones. Now I must admit I had not played the instrument for some weeks, suppose I accidentally touched the "FINE TUNE" knob - would it remember that setting on power down/up? Because than the mystery is solved.
Funny though, the manual does not say anything about tuning.
So, assuming the FINE TUNE setting stays on power down, how can I be sure that my Voyager is tuned to 440? Do I need to manually do it with a Boss tuner or something? Thanx for all the help.

For some reason the Fine Tune os not saved in the Voyager as is with all other knobs and pots. I don't know how sensitive the Voyager's master tune is for temperature (the classic Minimoog was extremely sensitive for temeprature)

Saving the fine tune would not make sense to me. It is mainly a set-and-forget setting if you do not move your Voyager, or if the temperature in your studio is not changing that much. But you need to check the tune if you are on stage. Or if you need to play the Voyager before the warm-up time is finished.
keep on turning these Moog knobs
