i mentioned i would be attending their upcoming shows in Dallas and Houston and John responded with the following on his forums:
"tb69. Yes, I tried mine out at rehearsal last week, and they sound, and look, great. There may well be another show added not too far from you, where we can rattle your fillings."
for those who don't know, John used T1s a lot in the band U.K. and also with Asia. There are tons of live U.K. bootleg live recordings online (plenty on dimeadozen) that clearly illustrate this. When I saw them in 2009 in Fort Worth, he was using Roland PK-5s to trigger a sound. Front of house had that channel up because every time he stomped on the PK-5s the theatre shook to it's foundation. here's to hoping they have a like minded sound man on their summer tour dates here in Texas when John uses his T3s.

Re: John Wetton likes his T3
Cool post Timmy.
I belive JW was using his PK5 to trigger a Roland V-Synth rack for his bass pedal sound.
Can't wait to see the new T3 on stage with ASIA this summer.

Timmy:
Thanks for posting. I saw the one thumbnail from the 'Rome' thread on the JW board but didn't see the closeup pics of the T3 as well as the nice shot with the P-bass.
Also glad to see hi kickin' it up another notch with full on Ampeg stack on the backline as well. Can't wait to hear it all live in August!!!

Re: John Wetton likes his T3
i know i know. a full bass rig versus a combo is a big step in the right direction. I plan to hit the Dallas, Houston, and Austin shows in August, too. i watched the YouTube vids from Rome and though the quality was poor i could hear John singing as well (or better) than he did in '82. really inspiring to see him back in action - T3s included!!!
