SOMONE PLEASE HELP ME. ..moog sweeps!!

hey,.. im wondering if anyone can help me because i soooooooo need too learn this... but in alot of oldschool programmes and songs.. there was sweeps.. ..i found a sample of one and it was called moogsweep.... but i really need too learn how too make them.. what oscilators and such.. weather its an apreggator or people playing it by hand. its really hard too explain so i can just show you a youtube clip.. i have plentyyyy more samples .. so if u dont know what it is by this clip i will post another link

well im sure there are a few ways around this but tis is what i would. send a source to the pitch of the oscillator (envelope or sine wave) to make it rise sort of slow and smooth, then you can mix in a 2nd source (sample and hold or square wave) that is about double (maybe alttle bit more) the rate. so as the 1st source is slowly rising the 2nd is bouncing up and down at the time. i think that should do it

thanx loads im going too try this now... i am i am using a vst tho.... do people in this forum hate or look down on that :S
that means i would not have much control over it tho if something was modulating the pitch.. and the monkey magic sample sounded like it was in the same key etc didnt it? i cant remember.. let me try this now tho. thanx for ur help mate.. .....

yeah its an apregg and im just doin minor 7 and major 7ns with it.. i just wanna know what oscilators tho.. because.. the 2nd video i posted isnt rich in harmonics like a square but its diffrent too a triangle and a trianglesaw :S

Try some filter self oscillation, play with the resonance etc.. The key to chose kind of percussive sounds are in the filters and envelopes.
